Roof replacement process

  1. Call or email to set up an estimate and inspection. 
  2. We will come to your house to get measurements and check roof decking, layers, ventilation, and overall condition. 
  3. From there we will go over options of shingles with you and answer any questions.  A lot of homeowners have NOT been through this process so don't be afraid to ask questions!
  4. You will receive your report and estimate via email, mail, or in person. Whichever you desire.
  5. When the job is booked the crew shows up typically around 7:00 AM.  We ask that you remove cars or anything you need from the garage during the day.  We will have a dump wagon that we pull in the driveway and park in front of the garage for that removal day versus a large and heavy roll-off container that can damage your driveway.  
  6. We put up plywood in between the garage and the dump wagon to protect the garage doors. We will also walk around and move lawn furniture, lights, grills, etc before we start tearing off shingles.  Along with that we put down tarps over shrubbery, decks, or where ever we believe the best place is to put them.
  7. Following the removal the shingles will be delivered by a knuckle boom from the roofing supplier.  They will pull in the driveway and lift the shingles to the roof and we will stacked them on the ridge of the roof.  This is when the roof gets installed.
  8. Clean-up is typically done towards the end of the day.  Depending on how many layers of shingles you have the job site can be a mess, BUT YES WE WILL CLEAN EVERYTHING UP! We have roller magnets and hand magnets to get in the hard to reach places.  We also use a leaf blower to clean the roof off and also the gutters and downspouts.
  9. Our goal is to leave your house looking cleaner after we shingle than before we got there!

Roof Repair

Roof leaks can be caused by many different things. Storm damage, tree damage from falling limbs, damage by people walking on your roof, old worn out shingles, cracked and sun damaged shingles, missing or damaged underlayment, and the list goes on and on. Many roof leaks are also caused by poor installation or by defective metal flashing. Many times this is missed when contractors are just looking at the shingle product. Flashing is used near any roof penetration area such as chimneys, skylights, walls and valley areas where roof angles join together. This then creates an opportunity for a problem. In addition, the poor installation of roof shingles, which are sometimes nailed incorrectly, may need to be addressed. If roof shingles are missing, they will need to be replaced. These are all things your free inspection will cover.  

During a roof repair, it is necessary to look for any other roof damage that could lead to additional problems that may not have been seen before the product is peeled back. If leaks are not addressed, the structure of your home may be damaged as the building frame continues to be exposed to dampness.
